Meena Raman is the Chair of Friends of the Earth International and Secretary General of Friends of the Earth Malaysia. After graduating from a Law degree Meena set up the first public interest law firm in Malaysia, and for 20 years has been involved in environmental struggles in Malaysia including the fight against multinational corporations, defending indigenous peoples’ and local communities rights over land, biodiversity and natural resources. Meena was a founding member of E-LAW – a network of environmental lawyers worldwide. read the interview |

Tony Juniper is the Vice-Chair of Friends of the Earth International and Executive Director of Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland. He plays a frontline role in many campaigns and has a particular interest in policy questions linked to the activities of transnational corporations. Tony also co-authored the award-winning book Parrots of the World. |

Godwin is a political ecologist and livelihoods expert, a poet and holds an Msc. in Environment and Development studies and Diploma in Theology. |

Karin Nansen is a founding member of Friends of the Earth Uruguay/REDES (since 1988). She is currently REDES- Programs Coordinator. Karin studied social sciences and social ecology, but she has learnt most through her work with peasent farming women in Uruguay and Latin America. |

Edith Abilogo is an environmental journalist, working at Center for Environment and Developement/Friends of the Earth Cameroon. As a communication professionnal, she plays a key role in the campaigns scheduled by her organisation. |

Juan Almendares is from Friends of the Earth Honduras. He has a Masters of Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania. He is coordinator of Movemiente Madre Tierra/Firends of the Earth Honduras and is active in the struggle against torture and human rights abuses. |

Elizabeth Bast is from Friends of the Earth US, where she campaigns on energy and climate justice. She co-authored Power Failure, a report exposing the World Bank's failure to finance renewable energy for development, and has written several articles on the impacts of climate change in developing countries. Elizabeth has a Master's degree in International Development and Environmental Policy and undergraduate degrees in Environmental Science and Urban Studies. |
