Friends of the Earth Argentina (Federación Amigos de la Tierra Argentina) was founded in 1984, and joined Friends of the Earth International one year later. At present is a Federation assembling NGOs from different regions of the country.

The campaign areas include:

• wetlands-water,
• inland fisheries,
• dams, mining,
• human and environmental rights and climate change.

At the moment the national coordination is performed by Asociación Ambientalista Ecolapaz
